Dark Arts 12 Year Bourbon Finished in Armagnac - "Barrel Daddy" - BO (115.16 Proof)

Mashbill: 60% corn / 36% rye / 4% malted barley 

The nose on this one is extremely fragrant. Cinnamon toast crunch, vintage suede, and chai latte give this a “dirty” and aromatic profile. Underneath are wispy notes of blackberry and grape, as well as an earthy oak. The palate starts heavy and sweet, but quickly ramps with more spice than one would expect for a finished whiskey. In fact, the Armagnac finish here is quite subtle, at least as far as typical dark fruit notes one might expect. It feels less like an extra finished layer was added, and more like the secondary barreling amplified the notes that were already present in the base blend. Further sips reveal a vanilla cream note that comes and goes. This is an epic barrel that keeps you coming back for more!
