Named after Palmer’s Stretch, the original name for Burnt Church Road, to honor George Bell Palmer — a Black businessman — and the historic community horse races held there (Burnt Church Distillery). Part of Burnt Church Distillery’s line of craft spirits that celebrate local history and use South Carolina-grown grains from Palmetto Malt and Marsh Hen Mill (Burnt Church Distillery).
Mash Bill: 56% rye, 32% wheat, and 12% malted barley
ABV: 97 (48.5% ABV)
Aging: Aged at least 3½ years in small (30-gallon) barrels
Tasting Notes: Toffee & brown sugar, with subtle rye spice, pepper, leather, oak, and faint dark fruit like cherry–plum on the nose. On the palate, soft spicy and pepper-forward, leaning into leather, clove, oak, caramel, lemon zest, grassiness, and dark fruit nuances.
