Augusta Buckner's 13 Year - Drums & Drams "Rager in Room 315" (137.6 Proof)

This barrel was the favorite of a majority of the pick team, with some serious mass appeal and a wildly long finish. The name comes from the bottle share that took place after the barrel pick. It only made sense that a barrel as bold and brazen as this be named after the rager that took place in room 315! One sip and you realize just how intense and unapologetic this one is. Fans of bourbons like George T. Stagg will find a lot to love in this drinking experience and flavor profile. Tasting notes below:

NOSE: A great combination of sweet and spice on the nose. Strawberry shortcake, maraschino cherry syrup, and sugar cookie with vanilla icing make up the sweet side, with lots of cinnamon stick (reminiscent of RC KOA barrels) and white pepper spice kicking things into high gear. It has a little bit of a menthol cooling sensation on the nose too. This has all the intensity and sweetness that high proof lovers are looking for.

PALATE: Grippingly spicy right away. This bourbon hits your palate and takes you on a ride, getting sweeter throughout the sip but never losing the intensity of the spice. Rich cinnamon stick notes kick things off, quickly transitioning to strawberry shortcake, vanilla icing, and candied red fruit notes that just won’t stop. There’s cream soda here too! The drinking experience is insane, with a palate that was an easy standout for the pick team. 

FINISH: An incredibly long finish. Not a ton of funky oak on this one, instead opting for a clean balance of those dessert-like sweet notes, cream soda, and the spice that makes this barrel so special. If you want a long finish and an intense profile with great sweetness, this is for you.
