A sweeter taste profile with aromas of dry citrus, raisin and light vanilla, finishing with crisp spicy notes and a hint of cinnamon apple.
A sweet nose with a presence of caramel. Tasting notes of honey, butterscotch, and a soft woodiness. It's smooth, delicate and calm. Features a smooth finish with a sweet honeysuckle flair.
This almost blew me off my chair. Always thought this was pleasant, if a little underwhelming, in the past. However, this bottling has had a few thousands volts passed through it as it now comes alive on the palate with a glorious blending of freshness and debonair aging.
Eye: Light caramel. Nose: A charge of rye and baking spice followed by strong notes of pepper, dill, vanilla and citrus. Lighter notes of citrus, nuts and fruit fade in and out. It’s a wonderful rye focused nose and I enjoyed it immensely. A great cask. Palate: Heavy rye and baking spices roll across the palate, forging the path for notes of citrus, dill, dark sweets and a bit of mint to come through. Like the nose the palate is rye centric and wonderful. Finish: Long spicy fade of wood, citrus and dark sweets.
Weller Single Barrel has a nose of cherry and mint, fading to vanilla. Caramel and baking spices with hints of cocoa explode on the palate, with a finish of cinnamon, coffee, and a hint of pepper.
This wonderful bourbon is bottled as close to barrel proof as possible. We add just a splash of our Kentucky limestone well-water when we empty the barrels for bottling. Thus, this whiskey is as smooth as any you will find.
Van Winkle Special Reserve is the perfect combination of age and proof. This sweet, full-bodied whiskey has been described by some as “nectar.” The 12 years of aging and medium proof seem to be just right in creating a very pleasant drink of whiskey. This fine bourbon can compete with any excellent cognac as an after-dinner drink. The overall impression is rich and deep.
This bourbon balances a rich mouthfeel, with robust notes of vanilla and oak. A whiskey that satisfies the demand of the non-chill filtered whiskey enthusiasts, honoring the man who made wheated bourbon legendary.
This bourbon was crafted according to our exclusive family wheated recipe. The smooth, oak flavor blends well with the barrel proof. Selected from barrels in the heart of our Kentucky warehouse, this bourbon has remained untouched for 15 years and unhurried by time.
Nose: Caramel apples, fresh corn and cloves. Butterscotch sneaks in after a while. Palate: More corn sweetness, mixed with slight spiciness of rye and cinnamon. Finish: Medium and very rich with creamy vanilla.
Aroma of oaky spices, figs and maple syrup. Notes of orange peel, dates, roasted nuts and tobacco lead to a sweet finish that is complemented by a hint of intense oak.
It deftly balances classic vanilla notes with an assertive dose of spice, hints of leather, and a mild medicinal note that lingers on the finish. It's a welcome addition to Kentucky bourbon.
Rich, sweet, chocolate and brown sugar flavors mingle in perfect balance with the bold rye spiciness. The boundless finish lingers with hints of cherries, cloves and smokiness.
To sip Barrel Proof is to experience Bourbon in its purest form: uncut, straight from the barrel, and without chill filtering. Each bottle is hand labeled with its unique proof and batch number; but the nose, taste, and finish are pure Elijah Craig.
No other bourbon today can stand 20 years of aging, but this bourbon does it with style. “Pappy” Van Winkle was a true character. This bourbon, like “Pappy,” is full of personality that makes it a very special whiskey, and some might argue, one of our best bourbons. It has been put in the class of a fine after-dinner cognac.
A single barrel expression of the four year bourbon in toasted and charred new oak barrels. High-rye, full-bodied whiskey offering savory and spicy character. Flavors of vanilla, butterscotch, oak, and spice. Each barrel offers a slightly different flavor profile.
Only the most careful and expensive distilling method can be used to create a whiskey as special as this one. These barrels were carefully selected from the heart of the warehouse for an added three years of aging. This signature whiskey is best enjoyed neat. Any ice or water will dilute its uniqueness.
There has been Whiskey made on the site of the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, for more than two hundred years. The first distillery operation that can be continuously traced to Buffalo Trace was started in 1812 by Harrison Blanton (yes, that Blanton). He sold the operation in 1870 and it was renamed the Old Fire Copper (O. F. C.) Distillery. It has been bought and sold many times over the intervening decades, but Sazerac has owned the property since 1992. They produce a wide range of Bourbons and Spirits — including their signature Bourbon.
Not only is the Buffalo Trace signature Bourbon beloved by its fans, it’s also really good and not overly-priced. In fact, it has become the flagship of the Sazerac Bourbon line-up. They keep the mash bill tight — Corn, Rye, and malted Barley with no Wheat filler. It is also aged at least 8 years and served up at 45% ABV. All that means rich, classic Bourbon flavor in every sip. For many Bourbon fans, Buffalo Trace is their "go-to" daily drinker and we think it would be hard to make a better choice.
Nose: a palate of sweet honey and vanilla tones is balanced with orange and spice, hinting at the relatively high rye content. A few minutes in the glass lets the nose open up nicely. A distinct woodiness sits in the background. Palate: quite tannic and fairly peppery, with a heavily woody flavor profile. A hint of maple is noticeable, but more than anything, what stands out is the dry, tongue-coating mouthfeel. Finish: oak predominates on a long, but drying, nearly hot finish. Some vanilla also peeks through.
NOSE: Deep grassy and floral herbs define the early nose. Leather, sweet oak and faint cherry bitters. TASTE: The taste starts with an oak-infused sweet tea before rolling on to feature maple syrup, chocolate and a touch of cinnamon at the end.
Our Gold Label bourbon is a marriage of four specific lots of barrels, each aged a minimum of 16 years. One of these lots was previously transferred into toasted, virgin American oak and left to rest for 18 months as one of our rarest stocks. This exceptional blend was bottled at cask strength so you can experience its true texture and flavor.
